In April 2025, Ukrainians sold cash currency amounting to $1.54 billion—the highest figure since the full-scale invasion began.
This data comes from the National Bank of Ukraine.
Overall, last month, the volume of currency purchases exceeded sales by $189.51 million, marking the smallest negative balance since August 2023.
The depreciation of the hryvnia in April led to a decrease in currency demand but simultaneously encouraged more Ukrainians to sell.
During the month, the population purchased $1.73 billion in cash currency and $339 million in non-cash currency, with non-cash sales at $337.3 million.
Since the beginning of 2025, currency purchases have exceeded sales by $3.35 billion.
