The Ukrainian government has broadened opportunities for the agricultural sector regarding the construction of vegetable storage facilities under the "Affordable Loans 5-7-9%" program.

This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

The decision was made during a meeting on April 18.

Agricultural producers planning investments in the construction of vegetable and potato storage facilities can now receive state support in the form of interest compensation on loans up to 150 million UAH, similar to enterprises in livestock and processing sectors.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, due to the war and infrastructure destruction in Ukraine, the shortage of storage facilities has increased to 60%. The need for new storage facilities amounts to 340,000 tons.

"This will strengthen the country’s food security and help reduce price fluctuations for vegetables and fruits during the off-season," noted Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitaliy Koval.

It is worth mentioning that Minister Vitaliy Koval has urged businesses to invest in vegetable storage facilities.
