At the Annecy International Animation Film Festival held in France, four Ukrainian works received accolades in various categories: Irina Tsilyk, Maria Yanko, Natalia Velikanova, and Ondřej Moravec with Viktoria Lopukhina.
The festival took place from June 8 to June 15.

Irina Tsilyk won the Ciclic Prize in the "Mifa Pitches – Feature Films" category for her documentary project "Red Zone", earning a grant of 25,000 euros and a two-month animation residency in the French town of Vendôme. The project depicts a typical day in Kyiv during wartime.
Maria Yanko was awarded the ARTE France Prize in the "Mifa Pitches – Short Films" category for her animated film "Kateryna", which explores how the full-scale invasion is portrayed on social media. The film is set to be purchased by the ARTE channel for airing in their "Court-circuit" program.
Natalia Velikanova created a project "Damned", which investigates the consequences of ecocide following the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant in 2023. It received the Weird Market Prize in the "Mifa Pitches – Immersive Experiences" category and has been invited to participate in the 17th Weird Market in Valencia, Spain, from September 30 to October 5, 2025.
Directors Ondřej Moravec and Viktoria Lopukhina were awarded the Cristal for the Best VR Work in the "VR Works" category for their VR project "Fragile Home", which immerses viewers in a home that becomes a dangerous zone.
During the festival, the short film "Memory Frescoes" directed by Oleksandra Dzhyhanska was presented, focusing on memory, personal recollections, and a sense of belonging.
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival is held annually in France, with its history dating back to biennial events from 1960 to 1998.
