Late Tuesday evening, a driver crashed their vehicle into the gates of the White House in Washington, according to reports from The Washington Post.
The accident occurred around 10:40 PM local time near the entrance for vehicles onto the White House grounds.
Details regarding the reason for the crash, the speed of the vehicle, and the driver's condition remain unclear.
The incident site is located just a few hundred meters from the residence of President Donald Trump.
The Secret Service reported that the driver was promptly apprehended by their personnel. The identity of the driver has not been publicly disclosed, and no charges have been filed.
An investigation commenced early Wednesday morning.
