Poland has commenced its largest military exercises planned for 2025.

This information is reported by RMF24.

On September 1, the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces announced the start of Iron Defender-25, which is the most significant military event for the country this year.

The exercises will take place on land, at sea, and in the air, involving around 30,000 troops from Poland and allied nations, as well as approximately 600 units of military equipment.

The training will be conducted at designated training grounds in the Warmian-Masurian, Pomeranian, and Subcarpathian Voivodeships, as well as outside their boundaries.

The General Staff noted that the maneuvers involve "the use of new strike and reconnaissance platforms" and the practical application of lessons learned from the Russo-Ukrainian War.

In connection with the exercises, noticeable movements of military equipment on the roads throughout Poland are expected in the coming weeks and until the end of September. The General Staff promised to organize movements to minimize disruptions for other road users.

This year's Iron Defender is taking place concurrently with the Russian-Belarusian exercises "Zapad-2025," also scheduled for September.

In Germany, there are no signs of preparations for a Russian attack on NATO under the guise of the "Zapad" exercises.

The commander of the Lithuanian army, Raimundas Vaikšnoras, stated that ahead of the joint Russian-Belarusian exercises "Zapad-2025," approximately 40,000 servicemen will be concentrated in the Baltic States and Poland.

Lithuania has imposed restrictions on the use of part of its airspace ahead of the "Zapad-2025" exercises.
