American Airlines Plane Incident in Denver

An American Airlines aircraft departing from Denver International Airport encountered a chassis issue on Saturday, resulting in a fire and injuries to one individual.

CNN reports, citing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), that the Boeing 737 MAX 8 faced a maintenance problem related to a tire before takeoff. The airport's emergency services and Denver fire department promptly responded to the situation.

More than 150 passengers were evacuated on the runway.

According to American Airlines, a combination of a deflated tire and the aircraft's slowing during braking caused the brakes to ignite, which was extinguished by the fire department.

The airline stated that all passengers and crew safely exited the plane, which was then taken out of service for inspection by maintenance teams.

Five individuals were treated on-site, and another was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Passengers were scheduled to fly to Miami on another aircraft later that day, added American Airlines.

FlightAware data indicated that 240 flights were delayed at Denver International Airport on Saturday evening.

The FAA is investigating the incident.
