Luxembourg Extends Support to Ukrainian Youth with New Initiatives

The Luxembourg government has announced a funding of €1 million to provide psychological support to Ukrainian youth through the Olena Zelenska Foundation.

The First Lady expressed gratitude for this initiative, emphasizing that "Luxembourg is a reliable ally of Ukraine, supporting us since the first days of the war in various fields, from humanitarian to military assistance."

She noted that during the meeting, they discussed the new direction of the foundation's activities – psychosocial support for youth.

"This project is extremely important for us, as Ukrainian youth are facing numerous challenges brought on by the war – anxiety, loss, uncertainty," she added.

Olena Zelenska also thanked Luxembourg "for this significant step and for the comprehensive support of Ukraine."

During the visit of Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Xavier Bettel, the delegation also announced the allocation of €10 million to support Ukraine's energy sector and an additional €10 million for defense needs.

Luxembourg to allocate €10 million for Ukraine's defense support

Luxembourg is also planning to allocate an additional €10 million to support Ukraine's defense sector. The Luxembourg government is discussing increasing the country's overall defense spending, with "a significant portion of it directed towards supporting Ukraine in the future."

The total military support provided by Luxembourg to Ukraine has already exceeded €250 million.

The Luxembourg government has also pledged to allocate €10 million to support Ukraine's energy sector in 2025, as well as €1 million for the Olena Zelenska Foundation.

Recently, Ukraine received a shipment of equipment from an international IT coalition, funded by Luxembourg and Iceland, with a total value of nearly €2 million.
