The newly established joint investment fund between Ukraine and the USA aims to invest in both natural resource extraction and infrastructure initiatives.
This was announced by Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine, as reported by Ukrinform.
“This fund will have privileged access to a wide range of investment opportunities in Ukraine as they become available,” he stated.
Initially, the focus will be on natural resources, but we are also keen on American investments in infrastructure, including roads, ports, and energy,” Kachka added.
He emphasized that this agreement will not obligate Ukraine to transfer assets into the fund.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine published the text of the memorandum with the USA concerning the finalization of the official economic partnership and investment fund for reconstruction.
The next round of negotiations regarding natural resources will start in the USA on April 24, with ongoing discussions on the technical aspects and formulations regarding the future operations of the investment fund.
