Rescue teams from the State Emergency Service (SES) successfully evacuated miners from two mines in Kryvyi Rih, who were trapped underground due to a power outage following shelling. This was reported by the SES press service.
As a result of a drone attack on January 22, one of the city's mines lost power, leaving miners stranded at depths of -1135 m, -865 m, and -475 m.
"Accompanied by specialists from the DVGREZ SES, the miners traversed nearly 7 kilometers of underground workings. The rescue operation lasted 6 hours," the statement said.
After midnight, another power outage halted operations at another mine where 92 workers were present.
"There, the mine rescuers worked according to the established scheme: miners were raised to the surface using the counterweight of the mine cage. They completed the task in 4 hours," the statement said.
All miners were successfully brought to the surface.
