Ukraine's air defense successfully neutralized 73 out of 99 drones that Russian forces attempted to use in their attack on the evening of December 25. A ballistic missile launch and 26 strike drones were recorded. This was reported by the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
On the night of December 26 (from 18:00 December 25), the enemy launched an attack with one ballistic missile «Iskander-M» from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, as well as 99 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera types, and other UAVs from directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsk-Akhtarsk – Russia, Hvardiyiske - TOT AR Crimea, approximately 60 of which were «Shaheds».
The attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian defense forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, the air defense had shot down or suppressed 73 enemy drones of the Shahed, Gerbera types, and others in the north, south, and east of the country.
Hits from the ballistic missile and 26 strike drones were recorded at 16 locations.
In Odesa, Russian forces attacked an infrastructure facility with a strike drone, causing a fire.
