On December 25, the Air Force units of Ukraine successfully executed a strike using Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles against the oil refinery in Novoshakhtinsk, Rostov region. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
“Numerous explosions were recorded. The target has been hit. The extent of damages is being assessed,” the statement reads.
The General Staff noted that the Novoshakhtinsk refinery is one of the largest suppliers of oil products in southern Russia and plays a crucial role in supporting the Russian armed forces by supplying diesel fuel and aviation kerosene.
The total capacity of the refinery's tanks exceeds 210,000 cubic meters.
“The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to take necessary measures to undermine the military-economic potential of the Russian invaders and compel the Russian Federation to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff emphasized.
On the night of December 25, strikes were also carried out on the infrastructure of the port of Temryuk in the Krasnodar Krai and on a military airfield near the city of Maykop.
