The Ukrainian armed forces reported the destruction of 63 out of 82 drones launched by Russian forces towards Ukraine on the evening of December 17. The information was shared via the Air Force of Ukraine's Telegram channel.
According to the report, the Russian army initiated the attack at 18:00 using 82 strike UAVs of various types, including Shahed and Gerbera, mainly from the directions of Milleryovo, Kursk, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), with about 50 being Shahed drones.
In response to the aerial threat, actions were taken by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the defense forces.
As of 08:30 on Thursday, December 18, the air defense has shot down/neutralized 63 drones in different regions of Ukraine — in the north, south, east, and center.
Nineteen strike UAVs were recorded hitting 12 different locations, with debris from downed targets falling in eight areas.
The attack continues, and hostile UAVs remain in the airspace.
In Cherkasy, as a result of the attack by Russian drones on the night of December 18, six people were injured, and part of the city was left without electricity.
