The air defense forces successfully neutralized 95 out of 115 drones used by Russian forces to attack Ukraine on the night of November 20. This information was shared by the Ukrainian Armed Forces Air Force via Telegram.
Starting from 6 PM on Thursday, November 20, the enemy launched attacks using 115 strike drones of the Shahed type, "Gerbera", and other models from directions such as: Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsk-Akhtarsk (RF), and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea), with approximately 70 of them being Shahed drones.
The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s defense forces.
As of 9 AM on Friday, November 21, the air defense had shot down / suppressed 95 drones in northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
There were recorded hits from 19 strike drones at 12 locations, along with debris falling at four sites.
The most affected were civilian infrastructure and private households in the Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions. There are casualties among civilians.
In addition, the enemy struck the city of Zaporizhzhia with guided bombs. As a result of the strike, five people were killed, and several high-rise buildings, a market, a supermarket, and vehicles were damaged.
“Russia continues to attack southern Ukraine with strike drones. Multiple groups of enemy drones are detected in the airspace. Please follow safety regulations,” the Air Force urged.
