Successful Defense Against Air Assault on October 30

On the night of October 30, Ukrainian air defense successfully neutralized 623 drones and missiles out of 705 launched by Russia on the evening of October 29. The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported 16 direct hits from missiles and 63 strike drones across 20 locations.
"On the night of October 30 (from 19:00 on October 29), the aggressor launched a combined strike on critical infrastructure in Ukraine using strike drones, air, ground, and naval-based missiles. The radio-technical troops of the Air Force identified and tracked 705 aerial attack instruments – 52 missiles (9 of which were 'ballistic') and 653 drones of various types (about 400 of which were 'Shaheds').", the message states.

The aggressor utilized:

  • 653 strike drones of the Shahed type and 'Herbera' (other types of drones) from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – RF, Chauda – TOT ARC Crimea);
  • 4 aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 'Kinzhal' (from Nizhny Novgorod region – RF);
  • 5 ballistic missiles Iskander-M/KN-23 (from Rostov region – RF);
  • 8 cruise missiles 'Caliber';
  • 2 cruise missiles Iskander-K (from Kursk, Voronezh region – RF);
  • 30 cruise missiles X-101 (from Saratov region - RF);
  • 2 guided air missiles X-59/69 (from the Black Sea area);
  • one guided air missile X-31P (from the Black Sea area).

The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, EW units, and drone systems, alongside mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

As of 11:30, air defense had shot down or suppressed 623 aerial targets:

  • 592 strike drones of the Shahed type and 'Herbera';
  • 7 cruise missiles 'Caliber';
  • one cruise missile Iskander-K;
  • 21 cruise missiles X-101;
  • 2 guided air missiles X-59/69.

Currently, there have been direct hits from 16 missiles and 63 strike drones across 20 locations and debris falls recorded in 19 regions of Ukraine. Additionally, three enemy missiles (as of 11:30) have been location-lost, and information regarding their landing spots and consequences is being confirmed.
