In the city of Pokrovsk, Ukrainian troops have neutralized a Russian reconnaissance group that infiltrated the area.
They violated international humanitarian law by harming civilians near the railway station.
This was reported by the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Upon detecting the enemy group, a joint strike-search team of the Defense Forces engaged in battle and successfully eliminated the saboteurs hiding in the station.
Currently, the defense of Pokrovsk has been reinforced with additional forces and resources.
Ukrainian soldiers are conducting constant monitoring of potential infiltration routes, patrolling the city, and checking suspicious buildings.
In the last two days, Defense Forces units have eliminated 14 Russian soldiers who managed to enter Pokrovsk. The command urges local residents to refrain from moving around the city unless absolutely necessary.
The situation in the area of responsibility of the 7th Rapid Response Corps remains tense: the enemy is attempting to expand the «grey zone» around Pokrovsk and break into the city from several directions.
According to military data, the enemy has also significantly increased the number of strikes with guided aerial bombs (GABs) on the Pokrovsk agglomeration.
On October 12 alone, 76 aerial bombs were dropped in the region, and during October 13–19, a total of 372, nearly doubling the figures from the previous week.
