The Ukrainian air defense has successfully neutralized 136 out of 164 Russian drones. This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
On the evening of October 17, Russian forces launched an attack using three S-300 missile systems from the Kursk region and 164 strike UAVs, including Shahed and Gerbera types, from various directions such as Millerovo, Kursk, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Approximately 100 of these drones were of the Shahed type.
The air assault was countered by aviation, missile units, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian defense forces.
As of 9:00 on October 18, preliminary data indicates that air defense has shot down or suppressed 136 UAVs in the north, south, east, and central regions of Ukraine.
There were confirmed hits of 27 strike UAVs at 12 locations, as well as debris from downed targets in 4 locations. The attack continues, and several Russian drones remain in the airspace, emphasized the Air Forces.
