The head of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitaliy Kim, announced that Russian forces have carried out an airstrike on Mykolaiv using guided bombs for the first time since the onset of large-scale war.

«Yesterday, two guided bombs were dropped. This is the first time these types of munitions have reached Mykolaiv. The specific type is being identified, but it marks the first instance since the war began where the outskirts of the city have been targeted by aerial bombardment,» said Kim.

On October 16, in the afternoon, the Air Forces of Ukraine warned about guided bombs heading towards Mykolaiv. Later, it was reported that around 12:00, a launch from a Su-34 aircraft in the Black Sea was recorded, directing an aerial attack towards Mykolaiv. The specific type of airstrike weapon is still being determined. Fortunately, there were no casualties among the people due to this attack.
