Drone and Missile Attacks: Latest Updates from Ukrainian Forces

The air defense forces have successfully neutralized 420 drones and missiles launched by the Russian army against Ukraine. There are reports of 19 instances of direct hits on enemy targets. This was communicated by the Air Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.

According to military sources, since 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 9, Russian aggressors have deployed a total of 497 aerial threats:

  • 465 drones, approximately 200 of which are of the Shahed type, along with other models like the “Herbera.” Launches were conducted from the Russian cities of Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Oryol, Shakhty, and Primorsk-Akhtarsk;
  • 2 air-launched ballistic missiles of the X-47M2 “Dagger” type, launched from the airspace of Lipetsk region in Russia;
  • 14 ballistic missiles of the Iskander-M/KN-23 type, launched from temporarily occupied Crimea, and the Rostov and Bryansk regions of Russia;
  • 12 cruise missiles of the Iskander-K type, also launched from the temporarily occupied Crimea, Rostov, and Bryansk regions;
  • 4 guided aviation missiles of the X-59/69 type.

The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

As of 10:00 AM on Friday, October 10, air defense had shot down/disabled 405 enemy drones, including Shahed and “Herbera” types, one air-launched ballistic missile X-47 M2 “Dagger,” four Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, nine Iskander-K cruise missiles, and one guided aviation missile X-59/69.

Additionally, four of the aggressors’ missiles were lost without reaching their targets. The determination of impact locations is ongoing. In 19 locations, direct hits from 13 missiles and 60 enemy drones were recorded, with debris from downed targets in seven.

The Air Forces emphasize that the attack continues, with several enemy UAVs moving in the skies over Ukraine.
