Impact of War: Casualties from Explosions in Ukraine

Since the onset of the full-scale invasion by Russia, 1330 people in Ukraine have suffered due to mines and explosive remnants, with 135 being children. This information was shared by the Main Department of Mine Action on Facebook.
As of October 1, 2025, 1330 individuals have been injured due to hostile mines, including 135 children and 1195 adults.
The highest number of casualties has been reported among farmers – 243, critical infrastructure workers – 137, and drivers – 88.
Additionally, among the affected are students – 121, unemployed individuals – 148, and pensioners – 116.
The department noted that data collection is being conducted systematically in accordance with the requirements of international protocols regarding the prohibition or restriction of certain types of conventional weapons.
Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are opening criminal cases regarding violations of the laws and customs of war for each incident of civilians being injured by Russian mines.
A database and interactive map have been created to help government and humanitarian organizations inform the public about risks associated with explosive objects and provide assistance to those injured by mine-related injuries.
