Assessment of Air Attacks: Defending Ukraine

The air defense forces have neutralized 552 enemy drones, two "Iskander-M/KN-23" missiles, and 29 X-101 missiles.

This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.

Since 8 PM on September 19, Russian forces have carried out a combined strike on Ukraine using strike drones and missiles from various platforms.

Radio-technical units of the Air Forces detected and tracked 619 airborne attacks:

  • 579 strike drones of the Shahed type and imitation drones from directions: Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk;
  • 8 "Iskander-M/KN-23" ballistic missiles from Yeisk (RF) and temporarily occupied Crimea;
  • 32 X-101 cruise missiles from the airspace of the Saratov region.

The air force, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defense forces successfully repelled the air attack.

During the air strike, the tactical aviation, particularly F-16 fighters, demonstrated high effectiveness. Western military equipment once again proved its significance on the battlefield.

The Air Forces expressed gratitude to international partners for the assistance provided and hope for further strengthening Ukraine in airspace.

As of 9 AM on September 20, preliminary data indicates that air defense has shot down/neutralized 583 aerial targets:

  • 552 Shahed-type drones and imitation drones;
  • two "Iskander-M/KN-23" missiles;
  • 29 X-101 cruise missiles.

Impacts of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as 23 strike drones, were recorded at various locations.

The attack continues, with several enemy drones still in the airspace.
