In recent attacks, the Ukrainian air defense forces successfully shot down 89 out of 113 enemy drones used for the assault on Ukraine on the evening of September 15.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on their Telegram channel.
Starting from 8 PM on Monday, September 15, Russian forces launched 113 strike UAVs, including Shahed, 'Herbera', and others, from directions: Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Approximately 70 of them were Shahed drones.
The air attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 9 AM on Tuesday, September 16, preliminary data indicates that air defense has shot down or suppressed 89 UAVs in the northern, southern, eastern, and central regions of the country.
It was noted that 22 strike drones were hit at six locations, and the wreckage of downed targets fell in two different areas. Two enemy drones remain airborne.
Additionally, around midnight, Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia with ten shells from multiple rocket launchers (preliminarily identified as 'Tornado-S'). There are casualties and injuries reported.
