Air Defense Forces Neutralize Majority of Drones in Latest Attack

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have successfully neutralized 61 out of 85 drones used by Russian troops in an attack on Ukraine on the evening of August 15.

This information was shared by the Air Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.

According to the report, at 7:30 PM on August 15, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine with a ballistic missile "Iskander-M" and 85 strike UAVs of the Shahed type, along with other types of drones from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Shatalovo (Russia), and Hvardiyiske (temporarily occupied Crimea).

Targeted areas included frontline regions in Sumy, Donetsk, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk.

Air strikes were repelled by electronic warfare units and drone systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 8 AM on August 16, preliminary data indicated that air defense had downed 61 drones in northern and eastern Ukraine.
