On the evening of August 14, Russian forces launched an assault on Ukraine, firing two "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles and 97 attack drones of the Shahed type along with various imitation drones. Most of the drones were destroyed, but 34 managed to hit their targets.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force via Telegram.
According to the Air Force: "As of 08:00, air defense has intercepted/destroyed 63 enemy Shahed drones and imitation drones in northern and eastern regions. Missile impacts and 34 drones were recorded at 13 different locations."
The missiles were launched from the Voronezh and Bryansk regions of Russia, while the drones were deployed from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Shatalovo.
The drones targeted frontline areas in Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, and Chernihiv regions, while the missiles struck Kharkiv and Chernihiv.
The air assault was countered by aviation, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
