The Ukrainian Armed Forces' drone units, in coordination with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, launched a strike on the Volgograd Oil Refinery LLC Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka on the night of August 14, which supplies petroleum products to the Russian army.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Facebook.

The drone strikes caused major fires at the facility.

Details regarding the impact of the fire damage are currently being clarified.

The General Staff noted that the Volgograd Oil Refinery is the largest producer of fuel and lubricants in the Southern Federal District of Russia, processing over 15 million tons of oil annually, which constitutes 5.6% of the entire Russian processing capacity. The refinery produces diesel, gasoline, and aviation fuel, which are critically important for the logistics of the Russian Armed Forces.

“We are consistently working to reduce the production capacities of oil products in the aggressor country and weaken its military. Russia must fully feel the consequences of its aggressive policies and put an end to its war against Ukraine,” emphasized the General Staff.
