The death toll from the attack on Kyiv on the night of July 31 has risen to 28, including 3 children. Additionally, 159 people have been injured, 16 of whom are children.
This was reported by officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and State Emergency Service spokesperson Oleksandr Khorunzhyi during a news marathon, as well as by Kyiv Military Administration Chief Tymur Tkachенко via Telegram.
"Throughout the night and early morning, rescuers recovered 10 bodies from the rubble of a residential building in the Svyatoshynskyi district, among which was a 2-year-old child."
Updated: At 8 AM, spokesperson Oleksandr Khorunzhyi reported that another deceased person was found under the debris of the building.
"A total of 27 individuals have died. Just now, we received information that rescuers pulled another person from the rubble in the Svyatoshynskyi district," Khorunzhyi stated.
At 8:34, Kyiv Military Administration Chief Tymur Tkachенко announced that the number of casualties has risen to 28.
Khorunzhyi predicts that the death toll from this Russian strike may still increase.
The search and rescue operation is ongoing. Currently, rescuers have cleared 70% of the destroyed building structures.
