During the night, Russian troops launched an attack on a correctional facility in the Zaporizhia region.

This information was confirmed by the head of the Zaporizhia OVA, Ivan Fedorov, via his Telegram channel.

"The enemy has attacked one of the facilities. Unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries," he emphasized.

Fedorov also noted that the attack destroyed buildings of the institution and damaged nearby private homes.

Later, he mentioned that the enemy carried out 8 shellings in the Zaporizhia district overnight. Preliminary reports indicate the use of FABs. The correctional colony was also targeted. A total of 16 people have died, and 35 were injured.

All necessary medical assistance is being provided to the victims.

It is worth noting that during the day, the occupiers launched 672 strikes on 14 localities in the Zaporizhia region. An 81-year-old woman was injured due to enemy shelling in the Polohy district.
