A tragic incident occurred in Kyiv where one man was killed and six people were injured, including a 15-year-old girl, during a combined assault on the capital.
The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has initiated a preliminary investigation regarding this war crime (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to investigation data, on the night of July 21, 2025, Russian military forces attacked the capital with rockets and drones.
As of 8:00 AM, it is known that there is one deceased man and six injured individuals, including a 15-year-old girl. The injuries include multiple shrapnel wounds and lacerations. One of the victims received on-site assistance for a hypertensive crisis.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a residential high-rise building was damaged, resulting in a fire on three floors. Additionally, the metro station and nearby food establishments and retail spaces were affected.
In the Solomianskyi district, windows and doors were blown out in high-rise buildings due to the shockwave.
In the Darnytskyi district, a kindergarten building and supermarkets were damaged, and windows were shattered in residential buildings.
In the Dniprovskiy district, trade pavilions and warehouses were on fire.
Two buildings, including an unfinished one, suffered destruction in the Obolon district of Kyiv.
The exact number of injured and the final consequences of the attack are still being determined. Rescuers and law enforcement are working at the destruction sites, documenting yet another war crime.
The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
