As a result of a night attack on Kyiv by Russian forces, six people have lost their lives and another 19 have been injured.
Source: State Emergency Service (SES), Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram, SES spokesperson Svitlana Vodolaha during the national news marathon.
According to Klymenko, there are casualties and injuries due to the combined shelling.
At 7:27 AM, Mayor Klitschko reported that the death toll had risen to five.
"Currently, there are 5 fatalities in a building in the Shevchenkivskyi district as a result of the enemy's attack on the capital. There are a total of 19 injured in the city. 8 of them are in city hospitals," the mayor wrote.
At 8:32 AM, the SES announced that the death toll has risen to 6.
"Efforts to eliminate the aftermath of the attack are ongoing at two locations. A total of 312 rescuers and 74 units of equipment are involved. Information is being updated," the service noted.
The shelling affected the Shevchenkivskyi, Podilskyi, Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, and Darnytskyi districts.
"The elimination of the consequences of the night strike on the city continues, and all services are working. Information is being clarified," the SES reported.
