Tragedy in Kyiv: Death Toll Rises to 24

Rescue teams have recovered the bodies of eight more victims from the rubble of a nine-story building in Kyiv destroyed by a Russian missile, bringing the death toll from this tragedy to 24.

According to the service: "In the Solomianskyi district, search operations continued uninterrupted throughout the night. As of 07:00, the bodies of five more deceased individuals were recovered from the partially destroyed nine-story building."

Updated: Less than an hour later, the SES reported that the body of another deceased person (male) was recovered from the rubble in the Solomianskyi district.

Spokesperson Svitlana Vodolaha commented to UP: "Currently, there are 22 fatalities. Of these, 17 are in the Solomianskyi district, 3 in a site in the Darnytskyi district, 1 deceased in an apartment in the Darnytskyi district, and 1 person who died in the hospital."

When asked how many more people are being searched for under the rubble, Vodolaha stated: "We do not have such data. The city authorities reported that there is a certain number of individuals who have not been in contact. We know that 35 apartments are destroyed. Work is ongoing."

At 09:05, KMVA head Tymur Tkachенко reported that rescuers had retrieved a woman's body from the rubble, raising the number of victims from the strike on the building in the Solomianskyi district to 18. Overall, there are now 23 fatalities in the capital due to the Russian attack on the night of June 17.

At 10:30, the SES announced that another body had been recovered from the rubble. The number of victims from the Russian strike on Kyiv has risen to 24.
