In Memory of Mykhailo Klymchenko: A Loss of Talent

On June 15, the notable artist of monumental art, Mykhailo Klymchenko, tragically lost his life at the front. He was only 49 years old.

This sad news was reported by the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television named after I. K. Karpenko-Kary.

"We mourn the loss of another alumnus, a well-known artist, Mykhailo Klymchenko, who graduated from the acting department in 1997," the university posted.

Klymchenko was a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and a winner of the international glass art competition "VitreProfi".

In the 1990s, he worked as an artist at the National Theatre of Russian Drama named after Lesya Ukrainka. In recent years, he dedicated himself solely to creative work.

Mykhailo Klymchenko made a significant impact on monumental art. His works can be found in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy. Notable pieces include the mosaic "Archangel Michael" in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the triptych "Saint John the Baptist at the Jordan", and stained glass depicting saints in Kharkiv, as well as "The Savior Not Made by Hands" in Cherkasy region.
