Since early June, nearly 900 individuals have been evacuated from the Sumy region, including 137 children. The evacuation process is ongoing in 213 communities within border areas.

"To date, we have evacuated almost 900 people, among them 137 children. In the last day, 21 individuals were relocated to safer areas." - said the head of the Sumy Regional State Administration, Oleg Grygorov.

He mentioned that the planned evacuation involves 213 communities across 18 border municipalities.

"The evacuation is carried out in close coordination with local communities, the State Emergency Service, police, volunteers, and international partners. Humanitarian hubs and transit centers are operational to provide essential support to those fleeing dangerous areas," he explained.

The head of the administration also noted that defensive capabilities in the region are being strengthened: anti-drone systems and mobile fire groups are being deployed, while businesses and the public are joining support efforts for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
