Oksana Hryhorieva, an advisor on gender issues in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, emphasized the significance of reinstating compulsory service for women. However, she believes that society is not yet ready for the mobilization of women.
She shared this insight during the conference titled "The War of Women", as reported by hromadske.
"I am in favor of restoring service. These girls should undergo training, even abroad, with NATO's assistance. But they need to be properly prepared", – she stated.
Hryhorieva also added that she considers Ukrainian society unprepared for the forced mobilization of women.
"This would lead to numerous protests. We have various women's movements – political, human rights, etc. – but there is no movement advocating for the mobilization of women", – she explained.
It should be noted that Oksana Hryhorieva was appointed as the first advisor on gender issues in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in March 2025.
Later, she expressed her belief that there are currently no grounds for mandatory mobilization of women in Ukraine, as Ukrainian women have not been included in the training system and were not subject to conscription.
