A tragic event occurred in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, resulting in the deaths of a family of volunteers – an elderly woman who cared for ten cats and her son.

This was reported by the Kyiv Animal Rescue Group, who were called to the scene by a friend of the deceased.

According to journalists from the telethon 'Unified News', the family lived on the top floor of a five-story building. The son had a disability, and his mother took care of him.

During the attack, the family was unable to reach the shelter.

At the site, the bodies of two people and five cats were found, and one surviving cat with severe burns was discovered under the window.

Rescuers found a severely burnt cat outside, likely thrown by the shockwave of the explosion.

The cat was urgently hospitalized by rescuers, suffering from burns over most of its body and severe lung injuries.

Currently, the animal is in an oxygen chamber in the clinic's intensive care unit.

“This cat has lost its home and family, nearly lost its life. Please help us save it. We would be grateful for any donations,” the animal rights activists added.
