Details: Zelensky's office confirmed the meeting occurred, but provided no further details. According to the Office of the President, the discussion lasted 15 minutes.
This meeting was the first following a serious quarrel in the Oval Office in Washington in February and took place at a critical moment in negotiations aimed at stopping hostilities between Ukraine and Russia.
"President Trump and President Zelensky met privately today, and the discussion was very productive. More detailed information will be released later," said Steven Chung, White House communications director.
Trump, who urges both sides to agree on a ceasefire, stated on Friday that productive negotiations had taken place between his envoy and Russian leadership, calling for a high-level meeting between Kyiv and Moscow to finalize an agreement.
Earlier, media reported that the Trump administration provided Ukraine with a one-page document in Paris, described as the "final proposal" for a peace settlement. Among other things, the U.S. is prepared to recognize Russia's control over Ukrainian Crimea and ease sanctions against Moscow.
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on April 24 that the U.S. presented its strategy regarding Ukrainian territories during negotiations in London, but according to him, after the U.S. proposal, "another document appeared".
