In response to the recent ballistic strike by Russia on Sumy, President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the international community, including the USA and Europe, to take strong measures.

He mentioned that the attack resulted in dozens of civilian casualties and injuries. 

"Only monsters could commit such horrific acts, taking the lives of innocent people. My condolences to all the victims’ families. A rescue operation is currently underway, and all services are working on the ground. The world must respond decisively. This includes the USA, Europe, and everyone who wants to end this war," the Ukrainian president stated. 

He emphasized that Russia seeks terror and prolongs the conflict. 

"Without pressure on the aggressor, peace is impossible. Conversations will never stop ballistic missiles and bombs. The world must treat Russia as it deserves. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine and helps us defend lives," Volodymyr Zelensky added.

As a result of the Russian missile strike in the center of Sumy on April 13, more than twenty civilians lost their lives, reported the acting mayor Artem Kobzar.
