President Volodymyr Zelensky posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to the fallen F-16 pilot, Pavlo Ivanov.

Quote: "For personal bravery and heroism displayed in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and for selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree:

To confer the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of 'Golden Star' on Ivanov Pavlo Ivanovych – Major (posthumously)."

Background: On Saturday, April 12, during a combat mission on an F-16, 26-year-old pilot Pavlo Ivanov lost his life.

Zelensky noted that he heard reports from military officials regarding this combat situation, and all circumstances of the event are being clarified.
