Kyivstar, in collaboration with WINWIN AI Center of Excellence at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, invites everyone to participate in a contest for the best name for a new Ukrainian language model (LLM).

"The creation of LLM is a significant national project that will impact millions of Ukrainians. Citizens will interact with the model through government services and business tools. It will be available for use in science, education, and defense. Everyone has the opportunity to influence the naming of our national AI", — stated Danilo Tsvok, Chief AI Officer of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and CEO of WINWIN AI Center of Excellence.

Suggestions for the name of the Ukrainian language model can be submitted in the comments under the post on the social network "Instagram" until December 5. The top ten names selected by the LLM development team will proceed to a final vote in the Diia app. This way, anyone interested can participate in choosing the name of the national model.

"LLM will serve as the foundation for the future ecosystem of national AI solutions. It is fitting for as many Ukrainians as possible to be involved in naming it, as this LLM will become part of our digital identity, just like the .ua domain or Diia", — emphasizes Mykhailo Nestor, Director of Digital Product Development at Kyivstar.

Following the voting results in Diia, the authors of the best name suggestions will receive prizes from Kyivstar:

• 1–3 places — Samsung smartphone and branded phone strap;
• 4–5 places — JBL speaker and a one-year subscription to Kyivstar TV;
• 6–10 places — branded phone strap and a three-month subscription to Kyivstar TV.

The first version of the model is set to be presented by the end of 2025. After the testing phase, the LLM will be available as an open-source solution.
