The State Customs Service of Ukraine has explained the causes of the technical failure that occurred yesterday. All key customs servers are equipped with backup power, but complications arose during the automatic switching process. Press secretary Alevtina Topchieva stated this on a television broadcast.

«All main customs servers have backup power that allows the system to continue operating in case of power outages. In this instance, the issue was the automatic switching between main and backup power. A verification of the systems has been conducted, and additional equipment will soon be installed to enhance the reliability of the backup power supply,» Topchieva commented.

She noted that voltage fluctuations and an emergency power outage damaged the automatic switching equipment. Experts promptly began restoration work, and power supply was restored within a few hours. Currently, all systems are functioning normally.

It should be reminded that on November 8, due to a technical failure in the customs service database, border crossing operations at the Ukrainian border were temporarily halted. Processing of citizens and vehicles for both entry and exit was not conducted.
