The entry and exit of citizens through border checkpoints in Ukraine has been temporarily suspended due to a failure in the customs database system. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service.
The reason is the malfunction of the system that processes citizens and vehicles entering and leaving Ukraine.
Experts are already working to restore the database functionality. Once the issues are resolved, border operations will resume in full.
Citizens and transport operators are advised to consider these temporary restrictions when planning their trips and to monitor official updates.
It was previously reported that Poland connected the "Khrebenne-Rava-Ruska" checkpoint to the new European control system.
The European Union has launched a new biometric control system that replaces traditional passport stamps and automatically records data on the entry and exit of third-country citizens, including Ukrainians.
The system officially became operational on October 12, 2025, at the external borders of the EU, including those with Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania.
During the first border crossing, travelers will undergo registration that includes photographing and fingerprinting, after which all subsequent checks will be conducted automatically.
