The investigators from the State Bureau of Investigations are looking into the details of a tragic vehicle accident involving military personnel from one of the units in the Lviv region. Four individuals lost their lives in a collision with a truck.
According to preliminary reports, on October 30 at around 21:15, near the village of Zhirivka, the driver of a «Nissan» vehicle with military registration failed to control the car on a turn. The vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a stationary truck.
As a result of the collision, the driver and two passengers of the «Nissan» died, along with a passenger from the truck, who was exiting the vehicle at the time.
DBR investigators conducted a scene examination, collected physical evidence, interviewed witnesses, and initiated a comprehensive inquiry to clarify all circumstances of the tragedy.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 2 of Article 415 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violating traffic rules or vehicle operation, resulting in the death of multiple persons).
The Lviv Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense in the Western Region is overseeing the proceedings.
