Energy Restrictions in Ukraine: New Challenges

image

Today, October 24, from 07:00 to 23:00, twelve regions of Ukraine are experiencing scheduled power outages. This is a result of new attacks from Russia, which led to power outages in several areas, as reported by NEC "Ukrenergo" on social media.
"Due to the consequences of previous Russian shelling, particularly the massive missile-drone attack on the energy system on October 22, from 07:00 to 23:00, schedules for power outages ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 hours are being implemented in twelve regions. Additionally, during this period, power limitations for industries and businesses are in effect across all of Ukraine," the statement said.
It is noted that due to new Russian strikes, several regions, including Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk, are experiencing power outages this morning. The situation remains complicated in Chernihiv region as well. Emergency recovery works are underway in all regions where networks have been damaged.
As of 6:00 AM on Friday, electricity consumption in Ukraine corresponds to the level of consumption from the previous day. However, the daily maximum consumption on October 23 was 2.6% higher than the maximum on October 22. This is attributed to a reduction in the duration of power outages.
"It remains crucial to adhere to energy-saving measures. If you currently have electricity – please limit the use of high-power appliances until 23:00," emphasizes Ukrenergo.
