Teenagers Arrested After Altercation Near Synagogue in Kyiv

Law enforcement learned about the incident yesterday via social media.
Three unidentified teenagers near a synagogue in the Obolon district of Kyiv instigated a conflict with a member of the religious community, using irritant gas on the man before fleeing the scene.
During the investigation, officers, along with criminal analysis specialists, identified the offenders and brought them to the Obolon police department. The suspects turned out to be local residents aged 15 and 16, students at a city school and college. Currently, investigators and juvenile police inspectors are in communication with the minors and their parents.
A criminal proceeding has been initiated under part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for gross violation of public order with evident disrespect for society, marked by particular audacity and exceptional cynicism.
