In Rivne, a gas leak occurred at a gas station on the night of October 9, but authorities confirmed that there is no threat to local residents. This was reported by the Regional State Emergency Service on their Facebook page.
«The leak was detected on Kyiv Street from a container with a volume of 7 cubic meters, affecting an area of 15 square meters», the emergency services stated.
Emergency responders, including firefighters, chemists, and police, promptly arrived at the scene. Two units from the 3rd State Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched alongside a special chemical reconnaissance vehicle and the operational coordination center.
To ensure safety, the gas station and the surrounding residential area were de-energized, and access to the scene was restricted by police.
Firefighters quickly closed the valve, which completely stopped the gas leak. Following this, radiation and chemical reconnaissance teams conducted air quality measurements, finding that gas levels remained within safe limits.
It was emphasized that the situation was fully controlled by rescue teams, and there is no danger to the public. A total of 4 specialized vehicles and 12 rescuers were involved in addressing the incident.
