An official from Holosiivskyi District is suspected of embezzling nearly one million hryvnias from the budget during the capital repairs of a shelter. Prosecutors in Kyiv have charged the head of the construction department with providing false information in official documents and embezzling budget funds during the renovation of a parking lot used as a shelter (Part 5 of Article 191, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It was established that the suspect ensured the victory of a controlled company in the tender for the renovation works.
After the completion of the works, the contractor submitted inflated volumes of completed work, which were approved by the head of the department, allowing the company to receive full payment.
These actions caused damages to the city budget of nearly 1 million hryvnias.
The investigation is ongoing, and the involvement of other officials from Holosiivskyi District in the embezzlement is being checked.
