The case against the suspect in the murder of Andrii Parubii has been initiated.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The Halytskyi District Court in Lviv granted the request of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office. The suspect in the murder of Ukrainian MP Andrii Parubii has been remanded in custody for 60 days without the right to bail.
The actions of the 52-year-old Lviv resident have been classified under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 1 of Article 115 (intentional murder) and Part 1 of Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons).
Recall that on August 30, the suspect fired eight shots at the MP, resulting in the victim's death on the spot. The following day, he was apprehended in the Khmelnytskyi region.
"When gunshots ring out in the streets, it is a signal for the entire state. We react decisively so that every crime against human life receives the harshest legal assessment," emphasized the head of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, Mykola Meret.
Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
