Kyivenergo is actively installing new meters in residential buildings where they are needed.

These devices are also being installed to replace those that have malfunctioned, cannot be repaired, or have been stolen. As reported by the municipal enterprise, in 2025, Kyivenergo will continue its program of installing heating meters in apartment buildings.

The program was initiated in 2020. This year, over 300 new meters and around 100 replacements for lost or faulty devices are planned to be installed in Kyiv. This represents a 25% increase compared to 2024.

Currently, 53 new meters have already been installed, which is 12% of the planned installations for the year.

“Kyiv is a leader among Ukrainian cities in equipping residential buildings with heating meters. There are now over 10,200 meters in the city, covering about 90% of the housing stock. Our goal is to gradually increase their number. This year, even more clients will be billed for the actual heat consumed by their buildings,” emphasized the director of the Energy Sales Department at Kyivenergo, Konstantin Lopatyn.

If a meter is not installed, billing is done based on Government Methodology No. 315. The heating costs for consumers are calculated considering the thermal load of the building, the number of hours of heat supply, and the average monthly outdoor temperature.

As previously reported, in preparation for the 2025-2026 heating season, Kyivenergo conducts annual comprehensive servicing, repairs, and verification of accounting devices. This year, more than 2,400 meters are scheduled for verification, and an additional 1,100 are planned for repair.
