Lviv is currently experiencing flooding due to heavy rainfall. The Zubra River has begun to overflow its banks.

This information was shared by the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, on Facebook.

“Due to heavy rains, flooding continues in Lviv. In some areas, water levels have risen to nearly 3 meters — this concerns uninhabited zones. The Zubra River is still overflowing,” the message stated.

There is a threat of flooding in parts of the Frankivsk, Sykhiv, and Railway districts.

The mayor urged residents to move belongings from basements to safer locations and to remove vehicles from underground parking lots and potentially hazardous areas.

“City services are operating at an increased level of readiness. Please exercise caution and take care of yourselves,” Sadovyi wrote.

According to the Lviv City Council, tram routes No. 4 and No. 8 have been altered due to flooding.

“Trams No. 4 and No. 8 are temporarily stopping at the 'Dovzhenko Cinema' station due to flooding on the tram track section from Chukaryna to Vernadskyi caused by the rising water levels in the Zubra River,” the message noted.

As reported by the city council, over 115% of the monthly rainfall norm fell in Lviv overnight.
