In Kyiv, a new book was presented, honoring the courage of Ukrainian women who have always stood by their men in defending their homeland.
With the support of the capital's authorities, the publishing house «Phoenix» has released the novel by Lyudmyla Okhrimenko titled «Khreshchena», based on the true story of a medic from the 12th special forces brigade of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Tetiana Tepliuk (call sign Khreshchena).
«Today we are presenting this book to our community, published with the support of the Kyiv City Council as part of the city’s civil society development program, as well as support for Defenders. This book is a narrative of the real events of the military journey of the oldest National Guard member. I emphasize: we are always happy to publish such books about heroes,» said Myroslava Smirnova, the director of the Department of Public Communications and a member of the Kyiv City Council (UDAR faction).
Myroslava Smirnova thanked everyone involved in creating this book.
«Today's hero of this book is Ms. Tetiana Tepliuk. You are an example for us to continue on the path of resistance against the enemy and the rebuilding of our country,» the director stated.
The book presentation took place within the framework of the capital’s unity platform «Stronger Together».
The main character of the novel, like her prototype, fought in battles for Mariupol, Azovstal, Olenivka, and a prison in Taganrog. When asked where the woman drew her strength from, this book provides the answer.
According to author Lyudmyla Okhrimenko, this is her second book dedicated to Ukrainian defenders. During the presentation, she thanked Tetiana Tepliuk for her patience and cooperation.
«Let’s protect our beautiful land together! Stand up for it! So much young blood has already been shed for it by people who should have been building the country, but instead, they became a shield for its defense. We see how amazing our warriors are—both men and women. A wonderful and beautiful nation,» said Tetiana Tepliuk.
The novel «Khreshchena» by the award-winning author of the international competition «Coronation of the Word -2021» Lyudmyla Okhrimenko has been distributed to all libraries in the capital and is not available for sale.
