Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, believes that artificial intelligence could displace certain workers, particularly in customer service and online support roles.

In an interview with podcaster Tucker Carlson, he stated that AI would enhance programmers' capabilities and potentially increase their salaries.

According to Altman, there are fields where 'human contact and deep connection' remain crucial, such as nursing.

He also pointed out that the demand for software and developers has exceeded what the market can supply. Altman refrained from making precise forecasts for the next 5-10 years, noting that while some professions may disappear, new ones will emerge. He referenced studies indicating that half of all jobs transform every 75 years.

During the discussion, Altman and Carlson also touched upon topics like religion, ethics, privacy, and the military use of ChatGPT. In response to a question about the appropriateness of using AI for life-and-death decisions, Altman compared AI to dual-use technologies and emphasized the importance of understanding the consequences. He mentioned that military personnel are already actively using ChatGPT for guidance in their operations.

As previously reported, OpenAI recently conducted a groundbreaking study revealing who and how people use ChatGPT. The findings indicated that the ratio of male to female users has become equal over the past year, and AI is increasingly utilized for everyday tasks.

The study highlighted that by June 2025, the proportion of non-work-related messages will rise to 73% compared to 53% the previous year. 75% of conversations with ChatGPT fall into three main categories: practical guidance, information retrieval, and writing. Users most frequently seek practical advice, learning resources, and creative ideas.
