New Video Preview Feature in Google Drive

image

Google Drive has introduced an update that allows users to preview videos by hovering over the progress bar, similar to YouTube. This feature is available for all new videos uploaded via the web interface or mobile app. However, the previews can only be viewed in the web version of Google Drive.

The company states that this enhancement aims to improve user interaction with video content and facilitate quicker access to desired segments. It is noted that the feature does not apply to older videos uploaded before this update was released.

Google also mentions that the update will be rolled out gradually to all users, including Google Workspace subscribers, individual users, and personal account holders.

Early access to this feature was opened on July 22, with a broader rollout planned for August 20 of this year.
